FH JOANNEUM (FHJ) is one of the biggest leading universities of applied sciences in Austria with 400 employees and approximately 4000 students. It offers students a scientifically surrounding field and practice-oriented university education in a range of degree programmes with an interdisciplinary focus. FHJ carries out research and development projects in close cooperation with local/regional and international partners from education and industry. Special emphasis is placed on strengthening interdisciplinary problem solving capabilities. FHJ’s aim is to integrate innovative applied research & development in the teaching field in order to maintain the quality of its degree programmes and provide practice-oriented education for students. The applied research & development is targeted on both, the needs of industry and public administration. Applied research is at the interface between basic research on the one hand and innovative services and product development on the other. FHJ takes an interdisciplinary research approach, combining scientific expertise with practical know-how. Its staff and students work together with its clients to develop comprehensive solutions, meeting international quality criteria. FHJs’ research achievements are reflected in innovations, publications and patents.

An der FH JOANNEUM studieren wir auf Basis einer fundierten theoretischen Grundlage praxisbezogen, projektorientiert und interdisziplinär. Oder anders gesagt: Wir setzen das Gelernte in Zusammenarbeit mit der Wirtschaft und Industrie sofort in die Praxis um, entwickeln in angewandten Forschungsprojekten neuartige Lösungen für aktuelle Fragestellungen und nützen Schnittstellen zu verwandten Fachgebieten. Das große Netzwerk unserer Hochschule ermöglicht uns Berufspraktika bei namhaften Unternehmen und Institutionen im In- und Ausland sowie Auslandssemester an einer unserer über 200 Partnerhochschulen weltweit. Da der Unterricht stets in kleinen Teams stattfindet, profitieren wir außerdem von der individuellen Betreuung durch unsere praxiserfahrenen Lehrenden. Neben interkultureller Kompetenz vermittelt uns das Studium an der FH JOANNEUM auch Soft Skills und erweiterte Fremdsprachenkenntnisse, was uns gemeinsam mit unserem Fachwissen ausgezeichnete Chancen für hochqualifizierte Jobs auf nationaler und internationaler Ebene ermöglicht.
